Volunteer Opportunities

At St. Peter’s, we have many opportunities for you to volunteer your time and talents. From ministries within the church to volunteer organizations in the community, there is always a place for you.

Acolytes

Many of our youth are trained to serve as crucifer, torch bearer, book bearer, lector, server, and other important roles during Sunday services.

Altar Guild

Altar Guild members take care of the sacred vessels, vestments, and linens used in a service as well as set the altar for the Eucharist

Music Ministry

The St. Peter’s Choir is very active in music-making, lifting up their voices to provide anthems for the 10:15 a.m. service and other special services.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors

Lay Eucharistic Visitors are trained to take communion to church members who are hospitalized, homebound or in assisted living.

Flower Guild

The Flower Guild arranges and brings our beautiful altar floral arrangements to the home-bound, the sick and the recovering, and the lonely.

Outreach

The Outreach Committee supports numerous organizations addressing food insecurity, housing, and community needs in Middle Tennessee.

Parish Life

The Parish Life Committee celebrates events in our church through planning, organization, creativity, hard work, laughter and enthusiasm.

Sunday School Teachers

Our Sunday School teachers have the joy of teaching Bible lessons and other curriculum to children from kindergarten up to 12th grade.

Ushers

Ushers and Greeters are often the first welcoming face we see on Sunday mornings. They distribute bulletins, count Sunday attendance and direct congregants as needed.
